Firstly, you will need to make sure you know what they are and how does these work. This type of light gets its name from the fact that it is based off a light emitting diode.

Traditional light bulbs require so much energy is because the filament must remain heated at all times to produce the light. When these filaments get too hot for too long, they tend to burn out and have to be replaced. Because of these factors, they use a lot less energy and last longer, making them a lot more efficient.

Since most of the commercial LED light bulbs do not have the same wattage as conventional lights, you will have to use more light bulbs for the same effect. But, even though you are using two or three times the number of conventional lights, you are using much less energy overall.
