3 Factors To Consider Before You Go And Buy An LED Industrial Light

Today the use of various forms of LED industrial light has become very commonplace in many business premises. However it is important that if you are considering installing such lighting into your business premises you don't go with the first one you come across.

When it comes to choosing the right kind of LED industrial light system for your business premises there are certain factors that you need to consider first. The three factors that we look at in this article are the ones that will help you to determine if you are buying good quality LED industrial lights or not.

Factor 1 - Heat Dissipation

This is the number 1 enemy of LED lights. If these lights are unable to dissipate the heat that they produce effectively then this will affect how well essential components work within them. In fact if the heat cannot be dissipated then very quickly the lights will begin to fail and of course will then need to be replaced much more frequently than is normally the case.

In tests carried out it was found that many of the LED lights tested came with a very inferior thermal conductivity system. Often this was because the manufacturers of such products had decided to use inferior materials. Instead of using aluminum alloy or aluminum they would use cheaper metals to make the bases of theirs.

Factor 2 - Chip Set

It is this component within the LED industrial light that is designed to convert the electricity coming into them into light. However when buying this form of lighting for your business premises make sure that you choose lights made using chips from reputable companies such as Cree, Bridgelux, Epistar or Luxeon. All of these companies have dedicated time, money and effort into creating the best and most reliable chip sets possible.

As a result of this the chips then cost more for the light manufacturers to purchase, which in turn means that their industrial lights with LED components are more expensive to buy. As a result of this the price you will have to pay for these lights is much greater. But then again you will find that they are actually more reliable so the chances of you having to replace them frequently is vastly reduced.

Factor 3 - Power Drive

It is this component that actually helps to regulate how much power is delivered to an LED industrial light. However it is different in one way from the drivers you find in other forms of lighting in that it supplies the lights with a constant stream of power even though the properties within the light change because of fluctuations in the temperature.

What you should be looking for is an LED industrial light fitted with a drive that enables the lights operating temperature to remain low and stable no matter how long they may be left on for. If you do this then you are reducing the chances of the lights needing to be replaced more frequently, because the wear and tear on them is greatly reduced.
